A Ryanair Boeing 737-800, registration EI-GJC performing flight FR-8027 from Corvera,SP (Spain) to London Stansted,EN (UK), departed Corvera's runway 05 when the crew stopped the climb at FL120 after an engine (CFM56) ingested a bird. The crew decided to divert to Alicante,SP (Spain) where the aircraft landed safely on runway 10 about 45 minutes after departure.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration EI-FOV reached London with a delay of 2.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Alicante about 24 hours after landing.
