The occurrence came to light on Mar 26th 2019 through a decree by Cameroon's Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA) issued on Mar 19th 2019 suspending the airworthiness certificate of the MA60 aircraft pending proof of airworthiness or a review by the manufacturer. The CCAA wrote to the operator: "Due to the serious tail strike incident on your MA60 aircraft registered TJ-QDA on March 10, 2019 at Bafoussam-Bamougoum Airport and in the absence of evidence of verification of the airworthiness of said aircraft, I regret to ask you to suspend the operation of the aircraft until evidence of its airworthiness is produced. If adequate procedures are not available, the reasoned opinion of the manufacturer is required."
When the airline purchased its two MA60s in 2015, the CCAA had already refused certification until 2016 over concerns of airworthiness.
The occurrence grounded the operator's last operative aircraft after the airline had come into serious trouble during 2018, when 4 of their 6 aircraft (including both Boeing 737s) had to be grounded due to maintenance cost. The last operative Dash 8 was damaged on Feb 25th 2019 in a ground incident and was grounded since forcing the airline to admit on Feb 25th 2019, that their "schedule was in turmoil".
On Mar 22nd 2019 the airline submitted the required additional documentation, so that the CCAA permitted TJ-QDA to operate again starting Mar 27th 2019.
