A MEA Middle East Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration OD-MRM performing flight ME-418 from Beirut (Lebanon) to Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), departed Beirut's runway 34 and completed a seemingly uneventful flight with a safe landing on Abu Dhabi's runway 31L.

A post flight inspection revealed evidence of a bird strike into an engine (V2527), the aircraft was unable to depart for the return flight ME-419 on schedule.

After remaining 15 hours on the ground the aircraft was able to depart for the return flight and reached Beirut with a delay of 13 hours.
