An Azul Linhas Aereas Embraer ERJ-190, registration PR-AZA performing flight AD-9063 from Florianopolis,SC to Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont,RJ (Brazil), was descending towards Rio de Janeiro, when the crew decided to divert to Rio de Janeiro's Galeao Airport due to longer runways available reporting a brakes problem. The airecraft landed safely at Galeao Airport.

A passenger reported the captain announced during the descent they had a brakes problem and would divert to Galeao Airport because of the longer runways available. The landing roll was long, the reversers were used for a longer than usual time, however nothing dramatic.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 12.5 hours, then departed for flight AD-9642 from Galeao Airport to Sao Paulo Viracopos.
