An Avianca Ecuador Airbus A319-100, registration HC-CKN performing flight 2K-7390 from Guayaquil (Ecuador) to Lima (Peru), was climbing out of Guayaquil when both DC Bus #1 and #2 failed shortly followed by AC Bus #2 and a DC Battery Bus Failure. The crew transmitted Mayday and considered to return to Guayaquil but decided to divert to Manta (Ecuador) due to weather conditions present in Guayaquil. The aircraft landed safely.

A replacement A319-100 registration HC-CSB reached Lima with a delay of about 3.5 hours.

Ecuador's JIA reported the occurrence was rated a serious incident and is being investigated.
