A United Boeing 757-300, registration N75853 performing flight UA-698 from San Francisco,CA to Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA), was on approach to Chicago when the crew reported a hydraulic problem and requested a low approach requesting the left main gear to be checked for any anomalies. The aircraft performed a low approach to O'Hare's runway 10C, tower instructed the crews of several aircraft near runway 10C to also look out for any anomalies on the left main gear, tower and crews reported seeing nothing unusual. While climbing out the crew requested a short approach to runway 10C, however, while on downwind to runway 10C requested to "roll the trucks". The aircraft landed without further incident on runway 10C and stopped on the runway, tower reported a ground observer noticed a blown tyre. The crew advised they believed the tyre probably blew in the wheel well. Tower instructed the next approaches to runway 10C to go around due to a disabled aircraft on the runway. The passengers disembarked onto the runway and were taken to the terminal.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Chicago about 38 hours after landing.
