A Ryanair Boeing 737-800, registration EI-FEF performing flight FR-435 from Timisoara to Bucharest Otopeni (Romania), was on final approach to Otopeni's runway 08R when the aircraft encountered a bird strike. The crew continued for a safe landing, vacated the runway and taxied to the apron maintaining routine communication.

A post flight inspection revealed fan blade damage to one of the engines (CFM56), the aircraft was unable to continue its schedule and is still on the ground in Bucharest about 16 hours after landing.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration EI-FRX continued the schedule with a delay of about one hour.
