A Vueling Airbus A320-200, registration EC-MKM performing flight VY-6470 from Rome Fiumicino to Lampedusa (Italy), was on approach to Lampedusa's runway 08 when the aircraft received a bird strike. The crew continued for a safe landing.

A passenger booked onto the return flight reported the aircraft was being inspected, the flight was delayed, no information was provided.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Lampedusa about 10 hours after landing.

Current indications suggest the return flight VY-6471 is going to be delayed by 18.5 hours.
