A PIA Pakistan International Airlines Boeing 777-300, registration AP-BMS performing flight PK-731 from Karachi (Pakistan) to Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), was enroute at FL360 about 150nm southeast of Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), still in Omani Airspace, when the crew decided to divert to Abu Dhabi reporting a passenger had accidentally damaged the forward lavatory, water could not be shut down. The aircraft landed safely on Abu Dhabi's runway 31R about 25 minutes later.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 3 hours while a broken tap in the forward lavatory was repaired. The aircraft then continued the journey and is estimated to reach Jeddah with a delay of about 3:45 hours.
