An Air Baltic Bombardier C-Series CS-300, registration YL-CSC performing flight BT-629 from Riga (Latvia) to Milan Malpensa (Italy), was in the initial climb out of Riga's runway 18 when the crew requested to stop climb at 4000 feet advising they had receivd a bird strike. Soon after the crew decided to return to Riga to have the aircraft inspected. The aircraft landed on Riga's runway 36 about 15 minutes after departure.

A post flight inspection showed the aircraft was unfit to fly. The aircraft is still on the ground 17 hours after landing back.

The airline stated the photo below is from flight BT-432, see Incident: Baltic BCS3 at Riga on Sep 24th 2018, bird strike, which had suffered a bird strike the day before. However, the photo was made on Sep 25th 2018 and surfaced the same day. The photo does not permit to identify the aircraft by tail number, label at the nose gear doors or any difference of the paint scheme. The weather on both days was similiar as were the lighting conditions for both aircraft. No information is available on whether the aircraft were docked at stand 303. As the photo was made on Sep 25th 2018 and surfaced shortly afterwards, it appears unreasonable to show the aircraft of BT-432 still at the gate almost 24 hours later.
