A TUI Airlines Belgium Boeing 737-800 Max, registration OO-TMB performing flight TB-5697 from Ostend (Belgium) to Palma Mallorca,SP (Spain), departed Ostend's runway 26 and was climbing out when the crew decided to divert to Brussels (Belgium) following a bird strike and turned towards Brussels. The aircraft climbed to FL200 and landed safely on Brussels' runway 25L about 30 minutes after departure from Ostend.

A passenger reported the bird left blood on a wing.

A replacement Boeing 737-700 registration OO-JOS reached Palma Mallorca with a delay of about 3 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Brussels about 28 hours after landing.
