A United Boeing 737-800, registration N34282 performing flight UA-1214 from Raleigh/Durham,NC to Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA) with 52 passengers, was climbing out of Raleigh/Durham when the crew stopped the climb at FL210 after two flight attendants had entered in an altercation. The aircraft returned to Raleigh/Durham for a safe landing about 25 minutes after departure.

The two flight attendants were removed from the aircraft, replacement flight attendants took their positions, and the aircraft reached Chicago with a delay of 3:40 hours.

The airline confirmed two flight attendants had engaged in an altercation, no charges have been filed, an internal review is under way however. One of the flight attendants had crossed her legs and hit the other, a disagreement, that obviously had already existed before, then escalated.
