A Solaseed Boeing 737-800, registration JA804X performing flight 6J-51 from Tokyo Haneda to Miyazaki (Japan) with 183 people on board, was on approach to Miyazaki when the crew stopped the descent at about 4500 feet due to a problem with the flaps. The aircraft climbed back to 6000 feet and diverted to Kagoshima (Japan) for a safe landing on runway 16 about 75 minutes after aborting the approach.

The airline apologized for the flaps problem. The passengers were taken to Miyazaki by bus. The airline reported the aircraft was repaired and tested, however the issue re-occurred on two subsequent flights 6J-55 and 6J-15.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Kagoshima for 22 hours, then positioned to Miyazaki and performed the return flight to Tokyo. The aircraft subsequently departed Tokyo Haneda for flight 6J-55 to Miyazaki but needed to stop the climb at 9000 feet due to a flaps problem and returned to Haneda for a safe landing about 30 minutes after departure. The aircraft remained on the ground for 5 hours, then departed for flight 6J-15 to Kumamoto and was enroute at FL300 about 370nm west of Tokyo (about halfway into the flight) when the crew decided to return to Tokyo, climbed the aircraft to FL310 and landed safely back in Tokyo about 2.5 hours after departure.
