A first tow tug was unable to move the aircraft, a second tow truck was dispatched and was able to tow the aircraft to the apron. The runway returned to service almost 2 hours after landing.
The airport in the meantime was forced to operate on crossing runways 02 and 25L causing delays.
The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Barcelona about 57 hours after landing.
According to information The Aviation Herald received on Aug 16th 2018 the nose wheel steering failed due to a bolt fracture on the mechanism of the nose wheel steering.
