A Nordwind Airlines Boeing 757-200, registration VQ-BAL performing flight NWS-1835 from Moscow Sheremetyevo (Russia) to Dalaman (Turkey), had just reached cruise flight level 340 when the crew initiated an emergency descent due to the loss of cabin pressure, the passenger oxygen masks were released. The aircraft levelled at FL100 and returned to Moscow Sheremetyevo, burned off fuel and landed safely about 2.5 hours after departure.

A replacement Boeing 757-200 registration VQ-BMQ reached Dalaman with a delay of 14 hours.
