Passengers reported the crew indicated they had received a bird strike into an engine (CFM56) during the takeoff run and needed to return to Alghero.
A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration YR-BMO reached Rome with a delay of about 5.5 hours.
The occurrence aircraft returned to service the following day after about 15.5 hours on the ground.
