A Lufthansa Cityline Canadair CRJ-900, registration D-ACKA performing flight LH-1687 from Debrecen (Hungary) to Munich (Germany), was on approach to Munich's runway 08L when a bird impacted the aircraft. The aircraft continued for a safe landing.

The aircraft was unable to perform its next scheduled flight LH-1664 to Sibiu (Romania) and remained on the ground for about 5 hours before returning to service.

A passenger booked onto the flight to Sibiu reported D-ACKA was planned to perform the flight, however, was replaced by D-ACKB, which departed with a delay of about one hour. They were told the aircraft change was necessary due to a bird strike.
