A Corendon Dutch Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration PH-CDE performing flight CND-113 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Faro (Portugal) with 162 passengers, was climbing out of Amsterdam about 50nm southsouthwest of Amsterdam when the crew levelled off at FL240 following a lightning strike. The crew reported they had no abnormal indications but needed an inspection of the aircraft from the outside and returned to Amsterdam for a safe landing on runway 18R about 30 minutes after departure.

A post flight external inspection revealed damage like paint peeling requiring repairs before the aircraft is able to resume service.

A Transavia Boeing 737-800 registration PH-HZW reached Faro with a delay of 6 hours.
