A Qantas Boeing 767-300, registration VH-OGU performing flight QF-583 from Sydney,NS to Perth,WA (Australia), was enroute at FL360 about 260nm southeast of Adelaide,SA (Australia) when the windscreen began to develop a leak prompting the crew to slow the aircraft and initially descend to FL300, then to FL150 and to divert to Adelaide. The aircraft landed safely on Adelaide's runway 23 about one hour later.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration VH-VYD reached Perth with a delay of 2:15 hours.
