Austrian B763 at Washington on Jul 19th 2018, bird strike
Last Update: July 23, 2018 / 23:07:54 GMT/Zulu time
A post flight inspection revealed a bird had impacted the right hand engine's (PW4060) inlet causing a dent. The aircraft was unable to depart for the return flight OS-94, which needed to be cancelled as well as the next day's rotation OS-93 and OS-94.
The airline confirmed a bird impacted the leading edge of the engine inlet. A maintenance team was dispatched to Washington to repair the engine.
The aircraft was able to depart for flight OS-94/23rd about 99 hours after landing.
