An Alitalia Airbus A320-200, registration EI-DTN performing flight AZ875 from Casablanca (Morocco) to Rome Fiumicino (Italy) with 72 passengers and 6 crew, was enroute at FL360 about 80nm northwest of Cagliari (Italy) when the crew reported a fuel leak and diverted to Cagliari for a safe landing on runway 32 about 17 minutes later.

The airline reported a problem with a fuel pump prompted the diversion to Cagliari.

The Aviation Herald received information from two independent sources that the aircraft lost about 700kg of fuel.
