A Summit Air Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-200, registration C-FEUR performing flight 7313 from Arviat,NU to Thompson,MB (Canada) with 2 crew, was descending through 8500 feet towards Thompson when the crew experienced an abrupt yaw, then received a low oil pressure warning, loss of high pressure gas generator RPM (NH) and decreasing Inter Turbine Temperature (ITT). The crew declared PAN and entered a hold to troubleshoot the problem and perform the checklists. The engine was shut down, and the aircraft continued for a safe landing.

The Canadian TSB reported mainteance found metallic particles on a chip detector, the engine was replaced. The replaced engine was sent for examination and overhaul.
