A Qatar Airways Airbus A330-300, registration A7-AEA performing flight QR-516 (dep Jul 12th) from Doha (Qatar) to Kochi (India) with 306 passengers, landed on Kochi's runway 27 at 02:19L (20:49Z) but touched down to the right of the runway center line, collided and damaged with 12 right edge lights of the runway. The crew subsequently managed to return the aircraft onto the center line, the aircraft rolled out without further incident and taxied to the apron.

The runway was closed for about 80 minutes to repair the runway edge lights.

The airline reported the aircraft skidded during the landing roll due to heavy rain and water on the runway and damaged a few runway lights. The aircraft taxied to the apron normally.
