A Porter Airlines de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration C-GLQG performing flight PD-574 from Windsor,ON to Toronto City,ON (Canada) with 32 people on board, struck its tail onto the runway while departing from Windsor's runway 30. The crew believing in a bird strike decided to continue the flight for a safe landing at Toronto's City Centre Airport about 35 minutes later.

NAV Canada reported a runway inspection at Windsor found no debris (bird remains).

The Canadian TSB rated the occurrence an accident and confirmed the aircraft struck its tail onto the runway while departing Windsor. The crew however suspected a bird strike and continued the flight, a post flight inspection subsequently revealed damage aft of the pressure bulkhead and the tail strike sensor. The damage is currently being assessed. Two investigators have been dispatched on site.
