A Nordica Canadair CRJ-700 on behalf of LOT Polish Airlines, registration ES-ACE performing flight LO-8845 from Copenhagen (Denmark) to Groningen (Netherlands), departed Copenhagen's runway 04R when the crew observed a bird strike. In the absence of any abnormal indications the crew decided to continue the flight and landed safely in Groningen maintaining routine communication about 50 minutes later.

A post flight inspection revealed damage to the aircraft, the aircraft was unable to continue its schedule. The aircraft remained on the ground for about 22 hours, then positioned to Tallinn (Estonia) and is still on the ground in Tallin about 26 hours after landing in Tallinn and about 50 hours after landing in Groningen.
