A Delta Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration N356NW performing flight DL-2128 from Detroit,MI to Orlando,FL (USA), was on final approach to Orlando's runway 18R when the aircraft collided with a large bird. The aircraft continued for a safe landing.

The FAA reported the aircraft struck a Turkey Buzzard on final approach and received substantial damage but rated the occurrence an incident.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Orlando for about 18.5 hours, then returned to service.
