A Jazz Canadair CRJ-200, registration C-FIJA performing flight QK-8820 from Hamilton,ON to Montreal,QC (Canada) with 20 passengers and 4 crew, was on approach to Montreal when cabin crew heard an unidentified aural alarm and informed the flight deck. The flight crew had no abnormal indications, however, decided to declare emergency reporting a fire alarm on board. The aircraft continued for a safe landing about 7 minutes later, emergency services checked the aircraft.

The Canadian TSB reported the aural alarm was subsequently identified to have originated from a passenger's personal electronic device.
