A Pobeda Boeing 737-800, registration VQ-BTJ performing flight DP-163 from Moscow Vnukovo to Astrakhan (Russia) with 170 people on board, was enroute at FL310 about 270nm southsoutheast of Moscow when the crew received indication of a right hand engine (CFM56) problem, drifted the aircraft down to FL240 and decided to return to Moscow. The crew shut the engine down and landed safely at Vnukovo Airport about 2 hours after departure.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration VQ-BWG reached Astrakhan with a delay of 3 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground about 9 hours after landing.
