A Sunwing Boeing 737-800, registration C-GTVG performing flight WG-685 (dep Apr 1st) from Varadero (Cuba) to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 187 people on board, was step climbing from FL350 to FL370 about 30nm northeast of Ft. Myers,FL (USA) when climbing through FL361 the crew received indications of engine #1 (CFM56) vibrations, that exceeded operational limits. The crew declared PAN and descended back to FL350. The crew continued the flight to Toronto without further incident.

The Canadian TSB reported the operator's maintenance confirmed the indication was false and was caused by a faulty Fan Frame Compressor Case Vibration Sensor. The aircraft was released to service under minimum equipment list requirements until the part could be replaced.
