An Air Canada Airbus A319-100, registration C-FYJP performing flight AC-127 from Toronto,ON to Edmonton,AB (Canada) with 123 people on board, was enroute at FL360 about 150nm eastsoutheast of Winnipeg,MB (Canada) when the crew observed the left hand engine's (CFM56) oil quantity was decreasing. The engine was reduced to idle, the crew diverted to Winnipeg for a safe landing in Winnipeg about 30 minutes later.

A replacement Airbus A319-100 reached Edmonton with a delay of 6.5 hours.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance determined the #1 engine accessory gear box had failed. The engine needs to be replaced.
