A Silk Way Airlines Ilyushin IL-76TD, registration 4K-AZ100 performing flight ZP-4953 from Bratislava (Slovakia) to Tel Aviv (Israel), was in the initial climb out of Bratislava's runway 13 when the crew requested to stop the climb at 5000 feet reporting a bird strike into the #4 engine (PS-90A, outboard right hand). The aircraft burned off fuel for three hours and returned to Bratislava for an ILS approach to runway 31 circling to runway 13 and a safe landing on runway 13 about 3:20 hours after departure.

On Oct 30th 2019 the so far unknown destination became known through investigative research by Czech portal investigace.cz, that the aircraft carried Czech military equipment to Baku (Azerbaijan) via Tel Aviv (Israel). An embargo against Azerbaijan by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) was in effect at the time, however, an UN embargo had been lifted already.
