A Westjet Encore de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration C-GENM performing flight WS-3205 from Fort St. John,BC to Vancouver,BC (Canada) with 44 passengers and 4 crew, was enroute at FL250 about 80nm northeast of Prince George,BC (Canada) when the crew received a fire indication for the right hand engine (PW150), shut the engine down and discharged both fire bottles, the indication however continued. The crew diverted the aircraft to Prince George for a safe landing.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance established that there had been no engine fire. A damaged wire in a connector had triggered the indication.
