A Rutaca Boeing 737-200, registration YV380T performing flight 5R-310 from Puerto Ordaz to Caracas (Venezuela), was enroute near Barcelona when the crew needed to shut one of the engines (JT8D) down, the passenger oxygen masks were released. The aircraft diverted to Barcelona (Venezuela) for a safe landing.

The passengers were bussed to Caracas.
