An American Airlines Airbus A330-200, registration N292AY performing flight AA-1743 from Philadelphia,PA to San Francisco,CA (USA), was enroute at FL260 over Lake Michigan about 70nm east of Fond du Lac,WI (USA) when the aircraft encountered severe turbulence. The flight crew climbed the aircraft to FL300 and continued the flight to San Francisco, where the aircraft landed without further incident about 4:10 hours later.
