A Jet2.com Boeing 737-300, registration G-GDFK performing flight LS-857 from Edinburgh,SC (UK) to Malaga,SP (Spain), was enroute at FL310 about 50nm westnorthwest of Bilbao,SP (Spain) when the crew received an abnormal engine (CFM56) indication and decided to divert to Bilbao, where the aircraft landed safely about 16 minutes later.

The airline reported the aircraft diverted due to a minor technical issue, a replacement aircraft was dispatched to Bilbao to take the 180 passengers to Malaga.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration G-JZHC was dispatched to Bilbao and reached Malaga with a delay of 6.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft was able to depart Bilbao and position back to Edinburgh about 7 hours after landing.
