A planespotter videotaped the departure, the video sparked the interest by Colombia's Aerocivil (Civil Aviation Authority CAA).
On late Jan 24th 2018 Colombia's CAA issued a statement reporting the departure by OB-2059P on Jan 21st 2018 had been unsafe. Investigation has shown so far that the flight had been "self-dispatched" by the captain of the flight rather than the authorized dispatch organization Tampa Cargo assigned to perform dispatches at Rionegro Airport. The CAA therefore suspended operations of Skybus in Colombia which effectively prohibits Skybus to perform flights into and out of Colombia until the investigation into the occurrence has been completed.
