A VivaAeroBus Airbus A320-200, registration XA-VAU performing flight VB-3260 from Mexico City to Torreon (Mexico), was on approach to Torreon's runway 31 when the aircraft flew through a flock of birds and a number of birds impacted the right hand engine (V2527). The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 31.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 50 minutes, then departed for the next scheduled flight and continued to operate on schedule throuhghout the rest of the day as well as the following day.

On Jan 4th 2018 Mexico's AIB confirmed however, that on Dec 3rd 2017 the aircraft sustained unknown damage, when the right hand engine sustained impacts while the aircraft flew through a flock of birds. The occurrence was rated a serious incident and is being investigated.
