An Icelandair Boeing 757-200, registration TF-ISZ performing flight FI-681 from Keflavik (Iceland) to Seattle,WA (USA) with 143 passengers and 6 crew, was enroute at FL380 about 350nm northeast of Edmonton,AB (Canada) when the crew received a right hand generator (engine RB211) drive indication, worked the related checklists and started the APU. About 10 minutes later the APU failed and could not be restarted. The crew declared PAN and diverted to Edmonton, where the aircraft landed safely about one hour later.

The Canadian TSB reported the right hand integrated drive generator "did not have oil". The cause of the APU failure could not be conclusively determined.
