A THY Turkish Airlines Airbus A321-200, registration TC-JSL performing flight TK-1633 from Istanbul (Turkey) to Munich (Germany), was descending through FL170 towards Munich when the crew received a low quantity followed by a low pressure indication on the yellow hydraulic system, declared emergency and continued for a safe landing on runway 26L about 15 minutes later. The aircraft was able to vacate the runway via high speed turn off B4 and stopped clear of the runway. The aircraft was towed to the apron.

The aircraft was unable to perform the return flight, the flight was cancelled, the passengers were taken to hotels and rebooked onto the next morning flight operated by an Airbus A330 instead of an A321.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Munich for 35 hours before positioning to Istanbul and resuming service.
