A PAL Philippine Airlines Boeing 777-300, registration RP-C7778 performing flight PR-103 (sched dep Dec 10th, act dep Dec 11th) from Los Angeles,CA (USA) to Manila (Philippines), was climbing out of Los Angeles when the crew requested to stop the climb at 8000 feet reporting they were unable to retract the landing gear. The aircraft dumped fuel and returned to Los Angeles for a safe landing about 80 minutes after departure.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Los Angeles about 14 hours after landing back.
