An Easyjet Airbus A319-100, registration G-EZBF performing flight U2-2805 from Milan Malpensa to Palermo (Italy), was enroute at FL390 over the Tyrrhenian Sea about 60nm west of Rome (Italy) and about 270nm south of Milan when the crew decided to return to Milan Malpensa due to a cracked windshield. The aircraft initially descended to FL380, later FL300 and landed safely on Malpensa Airport's runway 35R about 40 minutes after turning around.

A replacement Airbus A319-100 registration G-EZAF reached Palermo with a delay of 2.5 hours.
