A LATAM Brazil Boeing 777-300, registration PT-MUH performing flight JJ-8094 from Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP (Brazil) to Miami,FL (USA), departed Guarulhos Airport's runway 09L when a bird impacted the right hand engine. The crew continued the climb and levelled off at cruise FL320. About 5 minutes after levelling off the crew decided to return to Sao Paulo due to the bird strike, dumped fuel and landed safely back on Guarulhos' runway 09R about 3 hours after departure.

A replacement Boeing 777-300 registration PT-MUI departed Guarulhos as flight JJ-9694 and reached Miami with a delay of 12.5 hours.

The airline confirmed the aircraft collided with a bird in close proximity to Guarulhos Airport and returned to Guarulhos.
