Easyjet A319 near Paris on Oct 4th 2017, fumes on board, first officer incapacitated, flight attendant and passengers affected

An Easyjet Airbus A319-100, registration G-EZNC performing flight U2-2278 (dep Oct 3rd) from Palma Mallorca,SP (Spain) to London Luton,EN (UK), was enroute at FL340 about 160nm southwest of Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) when the captain initiated a diversion to Paris reporting the first officer had become incapacitated, a flight attendant as well as several passengers felt unwell. While the first officer was administered oxygen the aircraft descended to FL150 and subsequently landed safely on Charles de Gaulle Airport's runway 27R about 35 minutes after leaving FL340. Emergency services took the first officer to a hospital.

Passengers reported a number of passengers felt unwell, a child was vomiting, a flight attendant also felt unwell. The first officer could be seen, when the cockpit door was open, being administered oxygen from an oxygen cylinder.

The airline confirmed the captain diverted the aircraft due to some passengers and crew feeling unwell. The airline further told the Sunday Times on Oct 15th 2017 that maintenance discovered a hydraulic leak which the airline believes was the cause of the fumes on board.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for 61.5 hours, then positioned to London Gatwick,EN (UK) and returned to service another 24 hours later.
