A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-300, registration N655WN performing flight WN-792 from San Diego,CA to Oakland,CA (USA), was climbing out of San Diego's runway 27 when the crew indicated problems with the landing gear but decided to continue the flight to Oakland. On approach to Oakland the crew advised they had received three greens after lowering the landing gear, the airport advised they had activated their emergency plans and services would be standing by. The aircraft landed safely on Oakland's runway 29 and taxied to the gate with emergency vehicles following the aircraft.

A passenger reported that after departure from San Diego the crew indicated problems with the landing gear, after a cross check of the landing gear status the crew decided to continue the flight with the captain reporting they believed it was a faulty indication. The aircraft was received by emergency services who followed the aircraft to the gate. Following an unscheduled change another aircraft continued the onward leg to Portland,OR.

A replacement Boeing 737-300 registration N697SW reached Portland with a delay of 35 minutes.
