A Kuwait Airways Airbus A320-200, registration 9K-AKG performing flight KU-513 from Kuwait (Kuwait) to Tehran Imam Khomeini (Iran), departed Kuwait's runway 33L when an engine (CFM56) ingested a bird. In the absence of any abnormal parameters the crew continued the flight to Tehran where the aircraft landed safely.

A post flight inspection revealed damage to blades of the engine, the aircraft was unable to depart for the return flight.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Tehran about 8 hours after landing.
