An Air France Airbus A320-200, registration F-HBNE performing flight AF-7498 from Paris Orly to Biarritz (France), landed on Biarritz's runway 09 at 15:07L (13:07Z) but went off the runway and overran the end of the runway coming to a stop off the left hand edge and past the end of the runway. The aircraft was disabled. There were no injuries, the aircraft sustained minor if any damage.

The aerodrome was closed for about one hour, then reopened after the aircraft was pushed back onto paved surface and towed to the apron.

Passenger Kristen Charvin on board of the aircraft tweeted that they are stuck on the aircraft for more than an hour after the crew missed the landing. About 30 minutes later the passenger tweeted that the aircraft was moving backwards being pushed back onto paved surface.

Passengers at Biarritz waiting for their departures reported an aircraft landed fast and came to a stop on soft ground. They are now waiting for their departures that are already delayed due to the closure of the airport.
