A passenger reported the captain announced they had a flight controls problem and were diverting to Edinburgh because the runway in Aberdeen would be too short for them. After touch down in Edinburgh a burning odour developed in the cabin, however, they were instructed to remain seated while emergency services checked the brakes. Later they disembarked and were bussed to Aberdeen.
