A Delta Airlines Boeing 717-200, registration N969AT performing flight DL-1477 from Chicago O'Hare,IL to Atlanta,GA (USA), was climbing out of Chicago's runway 22L when the crew advised they had flown through a flock of birds at about 1500 feet already past the end of the runway and had received a number of bird hits, however, were fine. The flight continued to Atlanta where the aircraft landed safely about 75 minutes later.

The FAA reported the aircraft received minor damage as result of a bird strike just off the runway end at Chicago.
