An American Eagle Embraer ERJ-145, registration N680AE performing flight MQ-4264 from Ottawa,ON (Canada) to Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA) with 43 people on board, was climbing through FL270 when the crew detected the cabin pressure differential was not correct, the aircraft continued the climb. Climbing through FL300 the cabin pressure was lost prompting the crew to initiate an emergency descent, the passenger oxygen masks were released. The aircraft diverted to Toronto,ON (Canada) for a safe landing on Toronto's runway 23 about 22 minutes after initiating the emergency descent.

The remainder of the flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto other flights.
