People on social media were reporting in part the aircraft crash landed (the landing gear failed to extend) and in other part the wheels had locked up on landing.
Malawian Airlines reported one of the tyres deflated during normal braking, its anti skid system didn't work. The captain decided to have the aircraft towed to avoid further damage to the landing gear and its systems.
The aircraft remained on the ground in Johannesburg for about 3.5 hours, then was able to perform the return flight reaching Blantyre with a delay of about 2 hours.
